Tim Casey
and THE BLUESCATS

Rockin, Jumpin, Swingin the Blues !

Reviews

"Swing Shift", which is, I think, a compilationn to conquor Europe is good party music and has the following ingredients: everything is played with an overdose of enthusiasm, the necessary variety, a considered ratio original verses covers 7 & 7. These Bluescats can play all styles and it seems to me that they'll put any festival, club or tent on fire when playing live.
                       Marc Nolis, Rootstown Magazine, Belgium

One of the most swingin' lively and lovely combos who play jump, jive, rock & roll, blues, boogie and swing in the purest tradition. Behind the great Tim Casey's own compositions, you can find lots of details coming from the musicians who have deeply influenced him, Buy his "Swing Shift" CD ....Great

If you like your blues with tons of horn mixed with a swinging, jumping, boogie beat, the Tim Casey and the Bluescats could rock your world. Real smooth. Casey penned half the tunes which is always a nice bonus.                                                           Bill Michell, Blues Bytes
This band uses instruments and amplifiers changed little from the 1950s, a vintage amalgamation of old woods, vacuum tubes and paper cone speakers. Playing blues from the time of big-finned cars, bad bourbon, fat steak and horizonless optimism.                    Sam Enriquez, L.A. Daily News
"Northwest combo effectively captured live and direct. Good production on Casey's second CD showcases this outfit's rockin' live show."

Casey is the Guitarist, but sax and piano are also to the fore, this bands sheer enthusiasm really comes through on their "Live In Seattle" disc

Alan Empson, Juke Blues Magazine

Jumping '40s/50s-style R&B, with tasty guitar, piano and horn
combinations. Faultless, good-time music from the Bluescats. Washington State's version of Europe's, Bigtown Playboys.

                                           Alan Empson, Juke Blues Magazine

These guys are really the Blues TIGERS and ready for the big time and national recognition...

Great dynamics, fast or slow, big sound, big band, big deal!

                                                          Blues Review Magazine

Tim Casey & the Bluescats are the Northwest's version of "Roomful of Blues" ....a little big band laying down lots of jump, '40s and '50s style. Throughout, Casey's crisp, period guitar plays nicely off the adrenaline blur of Chris Kliemann's pounding piano and the propulsive horn section.

Tom Hyslop, Blues Review Magazine

This band plays with flair and finesse, and these cats are the essence of cool! They are a must-see and the northwest is fortunate to have them.
Marlee Walker, Blues To-Do's Monthly, Preachin' The Blues 90.3 FM

This band is so hot, they were called back for two encores. We could have listened to the Bluescats all night, that's a fact!

Robert and Carol Sawyer, Washington Blues Society President and Secretary

Tim Casey and the Bluescats lay down a fearsome swing/jump blues groove and are always entertaining, not to mention ususally being the best dressed folks in the house.
                                          Robert Sawyer, WBS Bluesletter

"Swing Shift" the third CD from Los Angeleno transplant Tim Casey and his rip-roarin', floor-stompin' Bluescats is sunny, upbeat, danceable West Coast-style swing of the first order.
                          Genevieve Williams, Washington Blues Society

It jumps, it swings, if that's what you're looking for, look no further, dig it

                                                           Blue Suede News

These guys are one of our favorite groups to catch, and they regularly attract some of the better dancers around for their swinging blues. They makeit move, and feature two saxes and a trumpet plus a great piano player.
Marc Bristol & Gaby Maag - Bristol, Blue Suede News

Definitely aimed at those who like their blues with healthy doses of brass and sass, a touch of cockiness pervades the entire album.
                                                         James Fowler, L.A. Times
Over at the Mural Stage, Tim Casey and the Bluecats had couples dancing to swinging blues from the 1930s and 40s.

The Bluescats swing with the best of them and make you hungry for more. A class act, dressed to impress, with a great show.

BLUES ON STAGE
Swing Shift delivers jump and swing, Texas and Chicago
style shuffles and good old-time rock and roll. The horn section, with tight arrangements and impressive solo's is a key ingredient in this seven-piece band. Tim Casey and the Bluescats swing throughout this recording in a way that makes it obvious they both enjoy and understand the music.
