What's Happening 2006'

Yes, It's about time to update our friends and fans as to what's Happening. The Bluescats were included in another CD compilation put out by The Walla Walla Blues Society. Tim's composition "Rock the Blues" from our latest CD "Rockin', Jumpin', Swingin' the Blues" starts their "Best of the Northwest Vol. 1.

We have finally just released our new Bluescats retrospective 1997-2006 DVD titled "American Blues Scene". This DVD follows The Bluescats rise thru the clubs, corporate parties, television shows, Bumbershoot, Northwest Folklife, Winthrop, Mt. Baker, Walla Walla and Portland Waterfront Festivals to the top of the Blues scene in Seattle. We have just been nominated for "Best Blues Band in Seattle" for the second time by The Seattle Weekly Magazine. Jumpin' Joey was also just nominated for "Best Saxophone" by The Washington Blues Society. We just had the pleasure of backing up rock-a-boogie piano master Mitch Woods at Seattle's hippest new Blues venue The Highway 99 Blues Club for two smokin' thru the roof shows. Mitch sent us charts 3 weeks prior to the shows and was very pleased with our performance, proclaiming us his Seattle 88's. Hell yeah we will do it again!

Tim has been a vintage video collector for the last 15 years and has incorporated it into a new show he has written titled "Jump & Swing". It's a history of 40's Jump Blues, 50's Rock & Roll and the dances the music inspired. Tim was lucky enough to hook up with Chris and Alison Evan, dance coordinators for the award winning Eastside Swing Cats dance team and incorporated them into swing dancing onstage in the show. It's fun, exciting and educational as we tell the history of the music thru vintage video on a giant Jumbo-tron TV screen
viewing all the greats who inspired us. The show breaks down to an overview of each instrument, Boogie-Woogie Piano, Honking Sax, the birth of the Electric Guitar, thumping Bass and explosive Drum solo's by first viewing the greats and then The Bluescats demonstrate it live with The Eastside Swing Cats dancing, jumping and jivin' with the band onstage. The Swing Cats even do a 3 song segment demonstrating and describing the dances they perform in the show. The show debuted in July 2005 and was immediately held over thru the end of the year. "Jump & Swing" has now been extended thru 2006 at Seattle's largest casino The Tulalip Casino. In 2006 we started free swing dance lessons one hour before the show starts taught by The Seattle Swing Cats. See the show review on our website homepage!

As you can see Mr. Bluescat is taking us out of the clubs into bigger venues and concert stages throughout the Northwest. One of our agents recently sent us to two different talent buying conventions for state fairs and the state parks summer concert series. We were a big hit at the conventions shopping us as a band, or band and dancers. Our schedule this year is very full; we are already almost fully booked for 2006.

We are pleased to announce the addition of Matt Golladay our new Trumpet and Trombone player. Oh, yeah, the horn section has the brass back on top. We know you are going to enjoy it as much as we do. Watch our website Tour Dates for your chance to see Seattle's premier Jump Blues combo Tim Casey and the Bluescats. Don't Be Square, be there!
